Is there a difference betweeen the PRINTER LIST on the CLIENT vs the PRINTER LIST on the SERVER and how do you specify which to use?

I'm wondering if a server printer list is being queried and found to be blank while the client printer list carries the HP4 (the default in this case). This might also explain why when I try WIN:/SELECT I get a file not found error.

I was under the understanding that in client/server only client printers were available in printerlist. I thought it was a security issue similar to the file selection box, where the only drives you have available are local or drive shares.

I believe you are correct Steve. Printer_list only pertains to the client because it is an NWP support function.

While a file selection box could in theory pertain to a server, that capability has not been added yet.

File not found on WIN:/SELECT is definitely indicative of a serious problem.

What about WIN:/DEFAULT ?
Is the report going to the correct printer?

WIN:/DEFAULT (or PREVIEW:/DEFAULT) work and the job goes to the correct printer.

Please keep in mind that the last parameter of PRINTER TYPE statements is case sensitive. It is, however, a substring matched against the printer name list.
