I think that’s an excellent idea Chris. I believe that we could all benefit from a shared open-source code base which we could check out, modify and put back. I imagine that together we could build some awesome utilities that we could all use and share, while not depending upon anyone person to do all the maintenance. FnSnap might be a perfect fit for this. We have to agree on a few standards which we all could deploy with, etc.
A show of hands – how many people would be interested in sharing code in this way?

This looks more like a collaboration tool rather that a discussion forum. This is Microsoft's version of what has been done elsewhere. They are kinda late to the game, though. There are several development/collaboration tools that are provided as services(sourceforge provides SVN and CVS) or available for download to set up yourself.
At Sage we use SVN for this type of thing. Web access is provided by WebSVN. This is pretty much the standard for most open source projects on the web today. I could set one up for the forum members to share code. Its really an excellent resource. It also free and open-source.
