BR Error 6270

I have an issue with 2 client machines where they get a 6270 error (or a little windows that says BR was unable to start the print job) when trying to print to a specific printer.
I have double checked that the printer name is correct and windows can use it without an issue. Both machines are new windows 7 machines.
I have a feeling it some wacky setting that someone messed up on windows, but I have no idea what it might be.
Has anyone run into this before?

Is it a shared printer or network printer? If so I would add its ip in the Internet options. Also make sure the share is staying active.

It is actually a non-printer. We set up a local "printer" that prints to file that we use for certain things.

If your running anti-virus make sure the folder your writing to and the windows spool folder are excluded from scanning.
