I have run across a hardware/software system that facilitates continuous uptime, in essence supporting processor, memory and disk storage maintenance and upgrades while the system is running. My brother, who has never used the cloud, has the impression that that level of service is offered by cloud services such as Amazon.
Are any of you using cloud services, and if so what types of service interruptions are you experiencing (such as for reconfiguration or going down for maintenance)?

He's talking about cloud services to host applications from, not websites.
